May 21, 2012 Update

Click here for the recent Global Insight Weekly

I started in the financial services business back in May 1998.  From then until the current period, the financial and economic environment has been a challenge for both investors and financial advisors alike.  These financial crises have helped structure my business in a way that I can provide safety of principle along with segmenting of assets into strategies that help clients migrate through difficult markets.  We have had the worst periods in the market since the Great Depression.  We have also seen very good markets from 2003-2007 followed by very bad markets.  I have changed my business practices over these time periods to align my clients concerns with their assets.  Listed below are my guidelines on which I focus my business around.

My Value Commitment

Values are the principles by which I operate my business and create a benchmark of standards that surpasses my clients' expectations.  The important values that drive my business are:

  1. Clients always come first
  2. Provide solutions that align with each others values
  3. Always provide appropriate and objective advice
  4. Provide an ongoing service model for my clients that keeps them well informed in all market and economic cycles

MissionStatement

My mission is to achieve a standard of excellence in our profession by providing personalized value-added service. Become indispensable to affluent clients by assisting them in making proper financial decisions. My process is to reach a high level of integrity and professionalism in my relationship with you, my client. I will know and understand your financial situation and provide you with quality information, services, and products to help you reach your goals. It is also my mission to use investments that have had historically high quality and sustainability in different market cycles.

As a reminder I update my website weekly to give you a current market and economic snapshot. These are timely in the fact they are updated every Monday.

Again, thank you for your business and I look forward to working with you.

Retirement Plans for Small Businesses

With standard 401(k) plans, the amount a company's owners can contribute to their own retirement account is often restricted by how much other employees contribute to the plan. With the safe harbor option, owners may be able to make larger contributions for themselves in exchange for making tax-deductible contributions or "matches" for employees.

Put It in Writing

A high level of job satisfaction is fairly typical of business owners, but it can also be a hindrance if it keeps them from thinking about a planned exit strategy. A written exit plan could help you avoid surprises.

Tax Law Keeps S Corporations Attractive

S corporations are more common than C corporations and partnerships, perhaps because they are not subject to the corporate tax. Instead, profits and losses flow directly to shareholders, who are currently taxed at lower individual income tax rates. Read why reorganizing as an S corporation may be a smart move.

HOT TOPIC: Current Economic Conditions and the Prospect for Inflation

Inflation jumped up to 3.2% in April. That’s still below the 50-year average but it may be little consolation for anyone who has been to a gas station or a grocery store recently.
